Dear Patient,
We have been trying to improve your oral hygiene through positive encouragement and training, but we have not had the success we need. Poor oral hygiene can produce permanent damage to the teeth and gums, including white spots and cavities on the teeth. It may also extend treatment time because the orthodontic wires may need to be removed in an effort to halt further permanent damage to the teeth.
Let us emphasize again that you need to brush at least two minutes after breakfast, once again during the day, and before going to bed. This is the only way to maintain healthy oral health.
Please take this situation seriously. You could suffer irreparable damage to your teeth and gums unless every effort is made to correct the problem.
Thank you for understanding and assistance in this important matter. If you have any questions please feel free to call the office at 208-529-8333 or 208-233-5500.
Best regards,
Layne K McCord, DMD, MS, MS
